Interview with our Team Rider, Luisma Iturria, Leader of the Latin American Championship ALAS TOUR.
T.Patterson S.A.: Luisma Hello, we have seen that from 2011 you was ON FIRE and this
2012 is very good, tell me as we are living?
Luisma: Hello, if the truth really happy with this start of the year and in 2011 I felt good about my surfing in contests, I surf a few events, but got good results, that awakened in me the desire to compete more and gave me confidence in my surfing, I can be at the top, and one of my goals was to win an ALAS, fortunately come surpassing my expectations and reached 4 finals and won two. Something very nice to live and it’s something I was struggling a long time.
It was a busy year starting with various competitions, was the disorder, but it paid off.
Now in these last months I was in my house with little surf but always training in the pool, gym and more, also keeping in shape for the remaining stages of the year.
T.Patterson S.A.: As you get to be part of Team T.Patterson Surfboards?
Luisma: I started surfing with T.Patterson because is a very good brand and I found out that Dario Milano have the licensed production in South America, and I saw Gabriel Aramburu from Peru surfing with them too. Gabriel is a very good surfer, then I said, Let’s try these boards.
So I call and order to Dario 5 boards, to test the different models.
Next to that was the ISA World in Panama and surf with a T.Patterson and I did very well, really struck me how well I surf these board, was so that it reaches quarterfinals, finished 13 position in the world.
Then I handle more boards in the course of the year, and in the 2012 was in 4 finals of ALAS TOUR and won 2 contest, there was that Dario was present in Montañita and gave me the privilege of being part of Team T.Patterson Surfboards.
T.Patterson S.A.: How is your relationship surfer-shaper with the shaper of T.Patterson South America, Dario Milano?
Luisma: Actually is very well with Dario, I like that this slope is that new models and this commenting and updating me all the time, the boards also made me be very very well, AMAZING BOARDS !!!
We are far away because I live in Uruguay and Dario in Peru, but later we will gather to discuss more boards and we saw some times in the ALAS contest.
T.Patterson S.A.: What are your favorite model boards?
Luisma: The TR-G I love, I have 4 of them with slight differences, is my MAGIC BOARD !!!
ADS also really like when there are good waves.
T.Patterson S.A.: Feel any change in your surfing with these boards?
Luisma: I feel that the boards I respond as I like, I have good control over them and respond to change in the rail to rail. Ultra-light, strong and fasters. Really good boards, and I cant wait to try the new models
